Hey guys,
quick mini flash game I did following the tutorial by Zachary Lewis' on Vimeo/Flash punk and added a little extra to it not seen in the tutorials (*thus far*).

It's essentially a space invaders game in which the player shoots enemies of contrasting polarity in order to get the kill.

This is my first time really coding on Flash Punk (or on an established Flash gaming engine) so it's a great experience. I was able to get to a point where I was able to code before the tutorials got to the relevant part. Then I mixed in my own experiments.

Differences to the tuts

:bulletred Added a Lives system in which the player restarts the game after losing a certain amount of lives.
:bulletred Boss battle! After 3000 point you will fight a boss. This was the main experimentation I deviated from the tut and why I'm submitting it here. The boss has a health system, invulnerability after being hit (so you don't spam damage it), switching polarity AND cheap AI.

It's still a little buggy from what I've noticed as the code isn't airtight (held together by nested if statements and duct tape) but enjoyable nonetheless.
